University Hospitals Bedford Medical Center opened a
Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center on May 1. The new
outpatient center specializes in the comprehensive treatment
of problem wounds, a growing issue spurred by our aging population
and increasing incidence of diabetes. Of the approximately
21 million Americans who have diabetes, an estimated 1.8
million will suffer from a problem wound in their lifetime.

are very excited about our publication, My UH Bedford
Care (formerly Lifestyle Matters). We look forward
to its distribution twice annually to residents in our market
areas. My UH
Bedford Care will highlight the expansions in both programs
and services we offer at UH Bedford Medical Center. We plan
to showcase the hospital's accomplishments, bring updates
on new services, list physicians and specialties, and provide
community outreach stories and helpful information on staying
well.
