About Us
UH Bedford Medical Center, located in Bedford, Ohio, is a 110-bed,
private, non-profit, full service, acute-care community hospital.
Originally no more than four beds on the second floor of a private
home in Bedford in 1908, the hospital has grown through the years
to keep pace with an ever-expanding population and demand for high
quality, accessible medical care.
The hospital was purchased and renamed in 1993 by University
Hospitals Health System (click here for directions from Bedford
Medical Center to the other UH hospitals). This relationship
ushered in a new era for the hospitala
time of unsurpassed growth and exciting innovations. Services include
a 24 hour emergency department, intensive/medical/surgical care
units, a state-of-the-art Outpatient Surgery Center, a new Heart and Vascular Institute, offering invasive and non-invasive heart and vascular procedures, and a wide
range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services.
