Community Commitments
Long Term Care Task Force
UH Bedford Medical Center collaborates with area nursing homes
to creatively problem-solve continuum of care issues and maximize
communication between the acute care setting and long-term care.
School Programs
Diversified Cooperative Training Program:
This program is made up entirely of students from the Bedford
School System. There are three paid student positions offered
during each school year.
Community Job Skills Students: This is an unpaid student
training program in which students are partnered with various
departments/workstations
to learn a variety of job skills. The program lasts throughout
the school year and is overseen by a teacher supervisor.
Community Education Programs
From February through November, educational seminars are conducted
on-site on a variety of healthcare topics. These seminars are
open to the public and are free of charge. The seminars are
facilitated by physicians and other healthcare professionals
from UH
Bedford Medical Center and University Hospitals Health System.
In many cases, the seminars may be coupled with health screenings
related to the topic. Click here for

Health Fairs
In addition to on-site health-related events, the hospital participates
in many civic, church and company employee health fairs.
Speakers Bureau
The hospital also has a Speakers Bureau. If you are part of an
organization that would like to have a physician or health care
professional speak on a particular health-related topic, please
contact us.
