The Mayors' Health, Wellness and Safety Initiative

The Mayors' Initiative is a consortium of mayors representing the municipalities of Aurora, Bedford, Bedford Heights, Glenwillow, Macedonia, Maple Heights, Oakwood Village, Solon, Twinsburg, Walton Hills, and Warrensville Heights. The primary goal of the Mayors' Initiative is to improve the health, wellness, and safety of the citizens in the southeast Cuyahoga and northern Portage and Summit counties.

The Mayors' Initiative theme is Promoting Healthy Lifestyles. Each respective community program (i.e. Wellness Walks, Senior Safety, etc.) will be a component of this theme and through the coordination of UH Bedford Medical Center will be provided with access to UH programs and services. The mayor of each community provides the leadership and engages service organizations and community representatives to design and implement specific health, wellness and safety programs.
