Mission Statement – Uniting Our Seniors in Health and Wellness

Welcome message from Autumn Richmond, Chairwoman:

Welcome to the UH Bedford Medical Center Senior Network! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that the members of our group truly live our Mission Statement, "Uniting Our Seniors in Health and Wellness." Every year, we provide a variety of opportunities for seniors to actively participate in their own Health and Wellness.

In the spring, we have our annual Spring Expo, which offers a relaxed atmosphere for fun and learning, along with a luncheon and a fashion show. This event has grown in popularity over the years, and is consistently sold-out each spring. This year, tickets are being made available by lottery only. We also offer an educational series specifically for caregivers which provides support and information about resources that are available in the community. In the fall, we sponsor a wonderful health fair with health screenings and professional talks on topics of interest, plus a wealth of relevant information and resources for seniors.

In addition to supporting seniors, Network members are also dedicated to each other. In the summer of 2007, we organized our first golf outing. It was a huge success, and we look forward to making this an annual event. Our devoted committee members work tirelessly throughout the year to offer monthly educational programs to fellow members, including our legislative committee which tracks and reports any changes in the laws that may affect seniors.

In 2007, the UH Bedford Medical Center Senior Network celebrated 10 years of service! I am proud to say that Cleveland Magazine recognized our decade of achievement with an 18 page, full color insert. 2008 Meeting Schedule

If you are someone who works with older adults and who wants to learn more about our Senior Network, please join us for one of our meetings.

• 8:30-8:45 - Networking
• 8:45-9:00 - Host/Showcase
• 9:00-9:30 - Speaker
• 9:30-10:00 - Business Meeting
• 10:00 - Tours/Door Prize

• Host facilities will provide refreshments, a sign in/info table and a five minute presentation of their facility/agency. Tours can be offered after.
• Showcases will provide a door prize to raffle off and will do a five minute presentation of their facility/agency.
• A display/informational table will be available at all meetings for flyers on CEUs, special events, etc. from any network member.
