Bedford, OH – On Wednesday, May 28th, 2003, the UHHS Bedford
Medical Center Senior Network will sponsor Healthy Lifestyles
at Catered Elegance
in Bedford.
The UHHS Bedford Medical Center Senior Network is again hosting
a vibrant, festive event to reach out to the ever expanding
local senior population offering information on health, wellness
and self improvement
they may need to adapt to the changes involved with aging,
while still
living fulfilling and productive lives. The event is geared
to seniors in the southeast region (southern Cuyahoga and northern
Portage
and Summit
counties). This fun-filled day will begin at 1 p.m. and run
until 3 p.m. In addition to presentations and screenings on Diabetes,
Osteoporosis,
Vision and Sleep Disorders, there will be a special presentation
on the
Healing Power of Humor presented by Mary Factor, a professional
Actor and Inspirational Speaker. Danita Harris of News Channel
5 will be the
afternoon’s special guest.
The Healthy Lifestyles show should be a dynamic
event focusing on education, demonstrations and screenings and
entertainment.
The event is free of charge. However, reservations are required.
Refreshments and light lunch will be provided for all attendees.
The UHHS Senior Network hopes to attract 250 people. Please

Developed in 1997, the UHHS Bedford Medical Center Senior Network
was developed to unite agencies serving seniors to allow for
the sharing of services and resources and providing a forum
for collaboration on behalf of senior services. The network
has fostered
an innovative model for the area in which agencies and staff
who support senior programs need not work in isolation, independent
from each other. Rosalee Florence, Director of Brentwood Health
Care Center, is the chairperson for the network. UHHS Bedford
Medical Center is the organizational sponsor and advocate for
the development of the Senior Network and provides hospital-related
programs and services, as well as financial support.
