Bedford, OHMr. Sean H. McKibben has been
appointed to the position of President at University Hospitals
Health System Bedford Medical Center. Effective September 1, Mr. McKibben replaces Mrs. Arlene Rak,
who announced her retirement earlier this year.
When the vacancy for President of UHHS Bedford Medical Center
was announced, a national search commenced for the most qualified
candidate. As a result of that search, Mr. McKibben was selected
based on his ability to adapt to and manage complex environments,
his extraordinary reputation as a leader and his outstanding
strides and improvements at each organization he has managed
throughout his career. The search team comprised members of the
Bedford Medical Center Board of Trustees, physicians, and management
staff and administrators from University Hospitals Health System.
Since 2000, Mr. McKibben has successfully demonstrated his
leadership in the role of Chief Operating Officer of UHHS Richmond
Heights
Hospital. He has been instrumental in transitioning and integrating
Richmond Heights Hospital with University Hospitals Health System.
Prior to joining University Hospitals Health System, Mr. McKibben
served as Chief Financial Officer and interim President of Youngstown
Osteopathic Hospital and Chief Financial Officer of PHS Mt. Sinai
Medical Center East. His previous work in healthcare extends
to The Mt. Sinai Medical Center, The Medimetrix Group and Richmond
Heights Hospital.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BS in Business
Administration (Accountant) from the University of Dayton.
He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from John
Carroll
University. He is a Board member for Meals on Wheels, and holds
membership with the Healthcare Financial Management Association
and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
