Bedford, OH University Hospital
Health System Bedford Medical Center is pleased to announce that several improvement
projects at our facility are now complete or on schedule for
completion.
The Emergency Department expansion and renovation has increased
our capacity by 50%, allowing us to better meet the growing need
for this type of service in our local communities. Since completion
of this project, the hospital is consistently achieving a "30
minutes or less" wait time between a patient's arrival
and their assessment by a medical professional. We now offer
more treatment beds, a streamlined registration process and bedside
registrationall of which contribute to a less congested,
less stressful and, most importantly, a shorter amount of time
spent in the emergency room.
Diagnostic and imaging services at Bedford Medical Center will
soon be complemented with the addition of a Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI) Suite. The MRI Center is in the final phases of
construction and is scheduled to be open for business before
the end of February. The Center will offer a comprehensive array
of diagnostic procedures and, for the convenience of our patients,
will offer evening and weekend appointment times. Shorter exam
times, personalized attention, ample parking and a separate entrance
to the Suite will ensure that each patient visit to our new MRI
Center exceeds expectations.
We recognize that visitors and family members of our patients
often spend a significant amount of time at the hospital, and
we feel it is crucial to provide them with spacious, comfortable
surroundings. Therefore, the hospital's main lobby is currently
being both renovated and redesigned. This project is on schedule,
and will be completed in March 2005.
These improvement projects have been implemented to meet the
changing needs of a shifting population base. The increasing
numbers of middle-aged and older adults is the motivating force
behind these recent initiatives as Bedford Medical Center strives
to become the hospital of choice for the surrounding communities.
For those who live in southeastern Cuyahoga, Northern Portage
and Summit counties, Bedford Medical Center is not only one of
the closest options for care, it is also very accessible! Conveniently
located near the Broadway Avenue and Rockside Road exits off
I-271 and the Warrensville Center and Northfield Road exits off
I-480, the hospital is definitely your best choice for quality
healthcare, close to home.
