Services
The department of Rehabilitation Services at UH Bedford Medical
Center consists of a highly skilled, compassionate team of licensed
professionals in the specialty areas of Physical, Occupational and Speech
Therapies.
Using a team-approach philosophy, the staff works with patients,
families, agencies and referring physicians to ensure the best
possible outcome is achieved.
The department contains state-of-the-art fitness equipment and
technology to support the skills of each therapist. The department
promotes and practices evidence-based therapy, which is supported
by current research and recognized by the medical community as
valid and meaningful.
Inpatient and outpatient treatment is provided for a variety of
conditions and pathologies, including (but not limited to) Orthopedics
and Sports Medicine Injuries, Musculoskeletal Disorders, Neurological
Impairments (stroke and brain injury), Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia,
Deconditioning, Occupational and Work-related Injuries, Hand Injuries,
Balance and Gait Disorders, Wheelchair Assessments, Adult and Pediatric
Speech and Language Deficits and Adult Swallowing Deficits. In
addition, we offer specialized programs for Women's Health
Issues, including Perinatal Exercise and Pain, Urinary Incontinence
and Osteoporosis.
The department of Rehabilitation Services is conveniently located
at the east end of the lower level of the hospital, near the Outpatient
Surgery Center. Hours of operation are Monday
through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 pm, and Friday from 8 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. Additional
hours can also be arranged when necessary.

to be treated. Please bring the prescription with you at the time
of your appointment or fax it to us at 440-735-3504 prior to your
