Welcome
to the UH Bedford Medical Center Website. It is the hospital's
goal and my personal vision to make this site an invaluable healthcare
resource and guide to all those who visit. It has been designed
to provide access to a wide array of information with exceptional
ease of navigation. Whether you are planning for an upcoming surgery,
or simply interested in learning more about optimizing your health
and wellness, I hope you will visit our site regularly to learn
more about what we have to offer. In the meantime, I invite you
to download our Welcome Guide (1.38MB
PDF). As always, your comments and suggestions are always appreciated
and we want to hear from you!
In addition to general information
about the hospital's capabilities, our website includes links to
assist you in finding
a physician, learning about career and volunteer
opportunities at Bedford Medical Center, upcoming community
events,
health screenings, educational presentations and much, much more.
Our site is updated often, so you will always know "what's
new" at Bedford Medical
Center.
With the ongoing support and financial backing of University
Hospitals, Bedford Medical Center continues to move forward with
dramatic expansions in both the programs and services we offer
to the community, and in physical improvements to our facility.
In February 2008, we will celebrate the second anniversary of our
five million dollar Heart and Vascular Center. The Center, which
offers a wide spectrum of fully integrated services for patients,
focuses on endovascular and cardiac interventional procedures.
It has enjoyed tremendous success, exceeding all expectations for
excellence in patient care.
2008 also marks the 80th anniversary
of our hospital, and we plan to celebrate all year long with special
events, parades and a gala fundraising event to be held in October.
Bedford Medical Center has come such a long way in our eight decades
of service, I feel this is the perfect opportunity to share
some interesting historical background of the hospital with our
readers. Click here to learn more.
Also coming in 2008 will be a new Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine
Center. We expect the Center to be operational early in the second
quarter, and are pleased to offer this important service to those
in need of specialty wound management. It is one more way in which
Bedford Medical Center is meeting the changing needs of the community.
In
conclusion, 2007 was a very busy and productive year for Bedford
Medical Center, and 2008 promises to be one of continued growth,
change and improvement.
As our hospital celebrates 80 years of service, our employees,
medical staff, Board of Trustees and volunteers thank you for your
continued support. It is both a privilege and a pleasure to serve
you.
Sincerely,

Sean H. McKibben
President
