This is an exciting time for UH Bedford Medical Center. As a proud member of the University Hospitals family, we continue to move forward and have reached many significant milestones over the last several years—meeting and exceeding national benchmarks for quality care and community commitment. Since 2005, we have invested almost $20 million in our facility, which ultimately is an investment in you!

Each project, renovation and service expansion has been part of an overall strategy to reposition UH Bedford Medical Center to better meet the unique needs of our communities. Our Heart & Vascular Institute provides a full spectrum of endovascular and cardiac procedures; our expanded and redesigned Emergency Department allows us to see and treat more patients, more efficiently than ever before; our state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging Department offers the latest technologies in MRI, CT and digital mammography; our Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center addresses the growing need for advanced wound care therapies; and many other aesthetic and functional redesigns throughout the hospital ensure that you will be cared for in an environment that is warm, welcoming and close to home.

Less visible, but equally important, are the superb quality measurement scores that we are attaining—routinely being placed in the 90th percentile for 90% of publicly reported core measures such as heart attack, congestive heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. This is a source of great pride for me and for every single employee at Bedford Medical Center. For you, it is your guarantee that when you come to us, you will be cared for with compassion, dignity and the highest level of clinical expertise. That is our promise to you.

In addition to our commitment to each individual patient, we also remain true to our pledge of support to the community as a whole. Our outreach programs and screenings are designed to educate, promote wellness, and strengthen the bond we enjoy with our partners in local commerce. We provide free cardiovascular screenings through our Dare to C.A.R.E. program, offer no-fee community education classes on a variety of pertinent health topics, and participate in numerous community health fairs and business expos throughout the year.
